Hi,
The next update to the CP200 functionality will be a control mapper for Color very similar to the one that is already available for our Wave panel. This will allow user customisation of all the controls for function and sensitivity. Take a look at the
Wave User Guide to see how this works. This update is due for release in early 2010.
Once this is in place we will be investigating ways to provide extra functionality, beyond that provided by Apple in their 3rd Party interface. Part of this may be control of some features of FCP.
I should point out that there is no software interface into FCP that allows control of the 3-way color corrector. The MIDI interface only gives access to editing, audio and 'transport' functions. Any control panel than allows control of the corrector must be doing so by automatically moving the mouse around the screen and simply dragging the on-screen controls. While this is quite an ingenious workaround it does have the severe limitation that only one thing can be controlled at once i.e. either shadow differential or midtone differential or hilight differential. While this will certainly still be better than using the mouse itself, it will never give the same level of simultaneous control than any panel (not just ours) gives with Color.
Best regards,
- Andy
